Nostell Priory
Nostell Priory was built by James Paine on the site of a medieval priory for Sir Rowland Winn, 4th baronet, in 1733. Later Robert Adam was commissioned to compete the state rooms which are among the finest examples of his interiors. The priory houses on of Englands best collections of Chippendale furniture, designed especially for the house by the great cabinet maker.

Settle To Carlisle Railway
The Settle-Carlise railway is one of the most spectacular in Britain; passing through lowland valleys before climbing to the dramatic mountain landscape of the Pennines, then descending to the fertile vale of Eden, and the Border City of Carlisle.
